There’s a new way to rent your home in town called onefinestay, which offers visitors the chance to stay at some of the Westside’s finest properties.
The company launched in London in 2010 and recently added homes in New York and Paris along with Los Angeles in September for a total of 1,800 homes across all four markets. It differentiates from competitors by selecting the highest quality homes, including some former properties of the rich and famous.
Onefinestay completely handles the booking so that for visitors it feels no different than a hotel stay and for property owners, hassle free. The company brings in a professional cleaning service and 5-star linen, towels and toiletries. Properties rent anywhere from $250 to $2,000 per night.
Shelley and Steph Altman, who recently rented their modern Venice home to a family over the Christmas holiday, said the experience was terrific.“They came and did this incredible inventory of the house,” Steph said. “We agreed which cupboards should be left closed and what drawers they shouldn’t use. When we came back the place was nicer than when we left.”
The pair estimates they travel seven weeks out of the year to visit relatives with their two children. For those staying at their home, it offers luxury living with a complete children’s area downstairs filled with toys.
“When you come on vacation with your children to go in a hotel room it’s so restrictive,” said Shelley. “When you come here with your kids they have a whole area to play.”
Included with every rental through onefinestay also comes a pre-loaded iphone that visitors can use to contact the host company, operate the remote controls or find a local restaurant.
“It gives visitors the feeling of living like a local,” said Alexandra Rethore, general manager of Los Angeles operations. “The homes feel interesting because they reflect the stories of the owners.”If you have a home you’d like to rent, contact them at email@example.com or 310-594-7476.
