Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 DLC has been restored for the canceled Switch

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 DLC has been restored for the canceled Switch

Aspyr Media has announced that it is canceling restored DLC for the Switch version of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II – The Sith Lords.

“Unfortunately, we’re announcing today that the restored DLC for the Nintendo Switch version of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II – The Sith Lords will not move forward with release,” Aspyr revealed in a statement on Twitter.

However, Aspyr is trying to do the right thing for fans by allowing those who purchased the game prior to this announcement to get a free game on Switch. Free games include: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Star Wars: Republic Commando, Star Wars: Episode 1 Racer, Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, and Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast. There is also the option to get the Steam version of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II.

To receive your game key, people must visit support.aspyr.com and then submit a request with proof of purchase for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II.

The restored DLC was a voluntary effort by fans to modify lost content for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II, as well as fix technical issues. It was officially endorsed by Aspyr Media in 2015.

Aspyr has been working on the first Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake. However, in August 2022, development was reported to have paused due to Lucasfilm and Sony’s disappointment with an internal pitch. Now, development is said to have shifted from Aspyr to Saber Interactive.
