Blizzard to address the disgruntled Diablo 4 community after a patch backlash

Blizzard will address the backlash to Diablo 4’s latest patch in a live stream set for Friday, July 21st.

Game Director Joe Shelley, Associate Game Director Joseph Bibora, and Associate Community Director Adam Fletcher will host the Campfire Chat live July 21 at 11 a.m. PT.

Diablo 4’s long-awaited pre-Season 1 patch, 1.1.0, drew loud complaints from the game’s community, who accused Blizzard of turning the role-playing game “sinister” with a slew of heavy foreshadowings for all classes. Gain experience points, progress at the end of the game, and more.

In a tweet (below), Fletcher said Campfire Chat will address these “feedback”.

“We’ve heard feedback from players regarding some of the changes in 1.1.0 for Diablo 4,” said Fletcher. “We’ll be having a Campfire chat later this week on Friday to talk more about that. We’ll have more details/timing the next day. Thanks again for the feedback!”

Blizzard has already released a fix For Diablo 4 that sorts out the issues caused by the patch. This addresses Helltide’s Aberrant Cinders drop rate, which was lower than intended, and re-enables the chosen Hate Buff.

Fletcher also confirmed that Blizzard intends to remove the world level 3 (40) and 4 (60) tier requirements that were introduced in stealth with this week’s patch.

Diablo 4 players are hoping Blizzard will undo a number of the patch’s controversial changes, but in the meantime Season 1, dubbed malignant seasonIt kicks off tonight, July 20th.
