Earlier this summer, IGN announced the return of the long-dormant Legacy of Kain series in the form of a new graphic novel. Now, after Kickstarter campaign for this graphic novel Now, we can exclusively show you the teaser trailer and art preview for Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver – The Dead Shall Rise.

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver – The Dead Shall Rise is a collaboration between Crystal Dynamics and Bit Bot Media. The book is written by Joshua Viola (True Believers, It Came From the Multiplex) and Angie Hodapp (Unioverse, Shadow Atlas), with interior art by Juan Samu (Star Wars, Godzilla), letters by Jeremiah Lambert (Masters of the Universe, Transformers), and covers by Dave Rapoza (Destiny, Magic: The Gathering) and Aaron Lovett (Monster Train, Inkbound). The book features additional art by Jonny Bush (Rob Zombie, Ghost) and Ninja Jo (Star Wars, Stranger Things), with Brent Friedman (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Call of Duty) providing narrative guidance, and Crystal Dynamics also providing creative direction based on unreleased elements of Legacy of Soul Reaver.

The Dead Shall Rise Kickstarter Campaign The book includes a number of different pledge levels, with the book available in both digital and print formats. Other bonus options include art prints, an accompanying soundtrack album composed by Matthew Kishi Heavey of Celldweller and Trivium, latex masks of both Kain and Raziel, and even a three-foot replica of the Reaver blade.
In other Legacy of Kain news, SDCC attendees spotted what appears to be branding for Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver I & II Remastered. However, the game has yet to be officially announced. But who knows what news might come out of gamescom this week?
