Nikki Glaser to Host 2025 Golden Globes

Nikki Glaser to Host 2025 Golden Globes

Nikki Glaser is set to host the upcoming 82nd Annual Golden Globe Awards.

The awards ceremony will air on January 5, 2025 from 8-11 p.m. ET/PT on CBS and online on Paramount+ in the United States.

“I’m so excited to be hosting the Golden Globes. It’s one of my favorite nights on TV and now I get to sit front row (actually, I think I should be hosting from the stage),” Glaser said. “The Golden Globes are not only a huge night for TV and film, but also for comedy. It’s one of the few times that the showbiz industry not only allows, but encourages, itself to be lovingly mocked (at least I hope so). (Oh my god, I hope so.) It’s exciting, but it’s also tough because it’s live, it’s unexpected, and it’s in front of the biggest stars in Hollywood (who also get drunk sitting next to their exes).”

“Some of my all-time favorite jokes have come from past Golden Globes opening monologues when Tina, Amy, or Ricky said exactly what we all knew we desperately needed to hear,” she continued. “I just hope I can continue that timeless tradition (it might even cost me my job). This is truly my dream job. Plus, I no longer have to feel guilty about every TV show and movie I’ve watched over the past year. It’s all been worth it. (Below Deck: Sailing Yacht season 4 is going to be nominated, right?)”

Glaser becomes the latest prominent comedian to host the Golden Globes. She joins the likes of Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Ricky Gervais, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers and Jerrod Carmichael, who have all hosted the annual awards show.

“Nikki Glaser is a comedic force with a bold, spontaneous sense of humor that is a perfect fit for the Golden Globes,” said Helen Hoehn, chairman of the Golden Globes. “She is sure to bring a unique energy and spontaneity to the show, keeping the audience entertained all night long.”

Glaser recently made headlines for appearing on a Netflix show that parodied Tom Brady. She previously had two HBO specials, “Good Clean Filth” and “Someday You’ll Die,” the latter of which earned her an Emmy nomination. She currently hosts “The Nikki Glaser Podcast” and the reality show “Lovers and Liars,” a spinoff of the reality dating show “FBoy Island.”

“Nikki Glaser brings a fresh, unparalleled candor to her comedy and to the Golden Globes,” said Jay Pinsky, Chairman and CEO of Dick Clark Productions and Pinsky Media. “Her bold style made her an obvious and compelling choice as host of this year’s event. We hope this is the first of many Golden Globes that Nikki will surprise and delight our CBS audience, as well as our audiences around the world.”

“The Golden Globes have a rich history as a night for entertaining and provocative humor,” said George Cheeks, Chairman of Paramount Global and CEO of CBS. “Nikki Glaser is a comedic force whose hilarious, bold and irreverent comedy will continue that legacy and cement this special as a must-see event on CBS.”

Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirschner of White Cherry Entertainment return as executive producers of the 2025 awards show telecast. Dick Clark Productions will plan, host and produce the annual Golden Globe Awards.

The 2024 Golden Globes saw a significant increase in viewership compared to the previous year’s telecast. It drew nearly 10 million viewers across all platforms when factoring in a seven-day delay in viewing, according to Nielsen data. That’s the show’s highest viewership since 2020.
