A family lost their home and dog when a car crashed into their home in San Diego, USA in March.
“I woke up with a feeling of an earthquake that wouldn’t stop,” said Karen Lowe, recalling the night a car ended up in her living room around one in the morning. The vehicle landed a few meters away from the husband.
In early March, the couple lost their home of 30 years.
The family dog, severely injured in a car crash, died overnight.
“The vet was very nice and explained to us what it was like. We were able to hold him in our arms and talk to him through the whole process,” Ms Lowe testified with tears in her eyes.
“Overnight, the only childhood home I lived in was destroyed. In a matter of seconds, my 21 years of memories in that house were gone,” Ms Lowe’s eldest daughter Cassie wrote on Instagram.
Weeks after the accident, the house is still fenced off. Karen Lowe and her husband are temporarily staying at a hotel.
Cassie started a GoFundMe campaign to help her parents pay for housing and repairs. Raised over 3500 USD.
