Overwatch 2 continues to have great crossover skins, and the latest collaboration comes in the form of Cowboy Bebop skins. In addition to other cosmetic items like distinct intros, icons, emotes, and more, there are also five legendary skins based on characters from Cowboy Bebop, with one of them available for free to players who complete time-limited challenges.
While Blizzard is holding back the rest of the cosmetic items for when the event begins on March 12, it has shared a look at in-game models of the new outfits, which will be available for purchase when the event begins. Pricing was not shared, but Legendary skin packs typically cost $20-$30 per skin, though larger event bundles have been available with each skin at some past events.
The legendary skins are Spike Spiegel Cassidy, Faye Valentine Ashe, Jet Black Mauga, Ed Sombra, and Ein Wrecking Ball, with the Wrecking Ball available for free through Challenges. Spike Spiegel Cassidy had Cassidy dress up as Spike and replace his cowboy hat with thick, bushy hair. Ashe, Mauga, and Sombra all have costumes that closely match the costumes worn by the same characters in the anime. Ein Wrecking Ball is a bit of a stretch, as there's not much to help portray the hamster as a corgi from the anime, while the rest of the skin pays homage to another character. The ball itself has MPU written on the front, reminiscent of the AI from Cowboy Bebop.
As for the rest of the Cowboy Bebop event, it's unclear if there will be a limited-time game mode to go along with it, but Blizzard has said that music from the anime will appear in the game in some form.
