Having been relatively unchanged since its launch years ago in Apex, the beloved Firing Range is getting an overhaul in Season 17, Arsenal. Here are all the changes you can look forward to in the new Firing Range.
The Range is where you come in to get some reps with weapons, test Legend abilities, and even 1v1 with each other.
But it was still very limited, and despite some big improvements in Season 16, with more dolls and competent stats, it always felt like the shooting range had more potential.

Perhaps Season 17 will finally realize this possibility, with the addition of an entirely new experience. Here are all the changes to the Firing Range in Apex Legends this season.
New map of the firing range in Season 17
Unfortunately, the old shooting range map is being replaced. The new and much larger shooting range now has space to practice all weapons at different ranges, a 1v1 ‘Duel Pit’, a Vert course to practice movement and more.
There’s even a place in town with buildings for more real-world practice, like the engagements found in real matches. This area will have doors and windows on buildings as well, as they are also important for interacting with abilities.

The dolls are now resisting
In the new Firing Range, dolls are now “fully customizable,” so you can make them run, attack, and fight back.
You can also increase or decrease the dolls difficulty settings for a more difficult challenge if you want.
1v1 hole
1v1 had been done before at the shooting range, but the onus was on the players to set them up, revive each other, and use the map as it was – which wasn’t designed with that in mind.

Since Respawn knows how much players will enjoy this, there is now a Duel Pit dedicated to 1v1 combat.

Movement practice
Becoming a great Apex Legends player isn’t just about aiming well and mastering the Legends game. The truly best players in the world are also masters of movement.
Sliding, tossing, hopping, wall jumping, and all of the more advanced movement techniques can take hundreds of hours to get really good at, but Vert’s new course will make that much easier to practice.

Respawn describes this update as a “vastly expanded shooting range,” and will allow you to hone your combat, movement, and ability skills.
Season 17 of Apex Legends goes live on May 9, and adds the new Legend Ballistic.
