The last time Arcade Fire Bowery Hall played was 2004 when funeral issued. Their debut started with a new single “The Lightning I, II” followed by the single “Rebellion (Lies)” and the extended single “Wake Up” that took the band off the stage and hit the audience. From there they led the crowd, in second-line fashion, down the street, then across Delancey Street and onto the Bowery tube station, which they passed and went up the street again just outside the Bowery Ballroom.

Before the show started, they had an old school pianist on the side along with a bass player. As people walked in, they were given a T-shirt that read “We”, and on the shopping table was a different T-shirt as well as 7 “Special singles from Lightning I, II”.

The bracelets for the show were immediately available, one per person and pay as you can, after Arcade Fire announced the offer on Friday afternoon. The proceeds went to the Ukrainian Relief Fund. They also let in a few people waiting outside at the ready.
