Los Angeles police arrested several suspects in connection with the killing of General Hospital A law enforcement source told Deadline that actor Johnny Wax died earlier this year.
Several search warrants were executed earlier in the day and about a half-dozen suspects were arrested, we’re told.
Wactor was killed in the early morning hours of May 25 in downtown Los Angeles. While walking to his car with a coworker after a shift at a bar, he was shot after confronting three thieves who tried to steal the car’s catalytic converter. Police say the suspects fled the scene in a stolen black 2018 Infiniti Q50.
The Los Angeles Times, citing sources, reported that the investigation is focusing on members of the Florencia 13 gang linked to catalytic converter thefts in the area.
As part of its investigation, the Los Angeles Police Department earlier this month released photos of the alleged suspects and the vehicle they used to get away.
His death sparked a wave of community outrage, with dozens attending a protest in June demanding justice. Los Angeles Deputy District Attorney Joseph Iñiguez told the crowd at the time that the Major Crimes Division was working with homicide detectives at the central office on the case, saying, “We have a number of leads.”
