Edge’s return makes Grayson Waller debut on the main roster

Grayson Waller is in the midst of something of a push, as WWE is clearly very keen on keeping him in front of the cameras and exposing him to as many audiences as possible. That continued Friday Night SmackDown This week at Madison Square Garden in New York City, he hosted another episode of his talk show, “The Grayson Waller Effect” with special guest, The Returning Edge.

Edge got emotional, cutting the super babyface promo that had fans working hard and big dreamers hosting him and how much that meant to him. He’s nearing the end of the road, and this is the 25th anniversary of his debut in WWE, and he’s very much appreciated.

Naturally, Waller tried to get him to announce his retirement.

Not only that wouldn’t have happened but Edge instead revealed that he spoke to the powers that be and got him a match – against none other than Waller himself. The idea, according to Edge, was to see if Waller would sink or swim.

He gave them plenty of time, and Waller hung in there just fine with the veteran, but when he tried to hit a Rolling Stunner he was met with a spear and pinned cleanly.

After that, Edge grabbed a microphone and only said four words.

“Hey Waller – I swam.”
