On October 3, 2020, Taylor Renee Parker was found guilty of murdering Michael Simmons-Hancock and her child.
During the sentencing observations, relatives of the 21-year-old victim came forward to testify their grief over the tragedy.
“My only sister. You must understand what you took from my family and from me (…). “If I want to see my sister, I have to go to the cemetery and go to her grave,” said Emily Simmons.
An investigation revealed that Taylor Parker got pregnant for months to prevent her boyfriend from leaving her, the New York Post reported.
Prosecutors say she wore maternity clothes and bought fake ultrasounds. He even organized a party to reveal the gender of this “fake” baby.
The young woman, who was infertile after a hysterectomy, had told her boyfriend that her labor was going to be induced on October 9, 2020.
That day, she instead went to the home of Michael Simmons-Hancock, who killed her with a hammer before cutting open her stomach and stealing her fetus.
He later fled with the girl, but did not survive.
