Princess Kate has banned her sister-in-law Meghan Markle from attending the upcoming coronation of King Charles, a prominent royal biographer claims.
Tom Power, who penned the bestseller Revenge: Meghan and Harry and the War Between Windsor, made the shock announcement during Interview with GB News on Thursday, saying he believes Markle may have actually wanted to attend the historic event.
The author claimed: “We should all be grateful that Kate did, in the end, I think, stop Meghan from coming, and said she ‘wouldn’t be there under any circumstances.’” [Markle] She came, she had to sit in the back.”
“I think Harry’s presence in the Royal Family is constitutionally important,” Power continued. “God forbid, the Cambridges are all dead, and we had King Harry on the throne after Charles, so he has to be there.”
Buckingham Palace confirmed on Tuesday that Prince Harry will travel to London alone for the coronation ceremony on May 6. Meanwhile, Markle will remain in California with the couple’s two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Power’s belief that Kate was behind the sudden decision to remove Markle from the event comes after details about the couple’s frosty relations were revealed in Harry’s memoir, ‘Spear’.
In the controversial book, Harry claims Kate started a passive aggressive argument via text message four days before her 2018 wedding to Markle, leaving the “Suits” star “crying on the floor.”
Kate’s daughter, Princess Charlotte, now 7, was due to act as a bridesmaid at the royal wedding. According to Harry, Kate texted Markle to complain that the young man’s dress did not fit properly.
The two women reportedly had a tense “back and forth” text exchange that greatly upset Markle.
Meanwhile, Markle too I skillfully shadowed her husband’s sister in the last year Documentary series on Netflix “Harry and Meghan.”
On the series, the actress-turned-podcaster claimed she wore “ripped jeans and [was] Barefoot” when Kate and her husband, Prince William, arrived to meet her for the first time.
“Like, I’m a hugger, and I’ve always been a hugger. I didn’t realize this was really upsetting to a lot of Brits,” Markle claimed, implying she received a frosty reception from the future king and queen.
Power’s claims come after a separate royal source spoke out earlier this week saying Kate was “relieved” Markle would not be attending the event.
“It could have been uncomfortable for Kate,” said an anonymous royal observer. Daily Mail Wednesday, he said that all eyes will be on the couple’s sisters for making their private differences public.
