Kerry Washington, Mindy Kaling Among Confirmed Hosts of Democratic National Convention

The Democratic National Convention will be held like an awards show in Chicago this week, with four hosts set to officiate the event in total — one for each night of the convention, officials said. CNN.

These hosts are; Kerry Washington, Tony Goldwyn, Mindy Kaling, and Ana Navarro.

Each is expected to open the evening with their own introduction, then return throughout the night to highlight the event and introduce new segments. The conference will address a different theme each night, including: “For the People” on Monday, “A Bold Vision for America’s Future” on Tuesday, “The Fight for Our Freedoms” on Wednesday, and “For Our Future” on Thursday.

Washington, which runs its own nonprofit political organization Influence Change, will host the big night of the convention on Thursday, when Vice President Kamala Harris formally accepts the Democratic nomination for president. Harris officially became the Democratic nominee for president on Aug. 6 after receiving a majority of votes in a virtual roll call.

Goldwyn hosts Monday night, Navarro on Tuesday, and Kaling on Wednesday.

All four were vocal supporters of the Democratic Party.
