When AJ Styles pretended to retire before turning down the hype on Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, a voice from the crowd spoke up and said what many fans were thinking.
“Mark Henry!”
The last corner is on smack down Between Styles and Rhodes, which sets the stage for the second chapter of their saga, bears a striking resemblance to the plot of 2013’s raw. At that point, a smartly dressed Mark Henry tempted John Cena with a heartfelt farewell, only to have Cena enter his own hall of pain.
So, how did Henry react to the 2024 remake of WWE’s Great Pretender?
He loved it.
“Well done AJ,” the WWE Hall of Famer and former World Champion wrote on X, before signing off with three hand clapping emojis and a nod to his Busted Open Radio and WWE.
Earlier this week, Henry’s contract with All Elite Wrestling expired. Despite his move from AEW, the World’s Strongest Man intends to remain involved in the sports entertainment industry, saying earlier this week: “I’m not leaving professional wrestling. What I’m saying is that I’m going to take some time to work on some projects, and I’ll come back with full force. Because that’s what I do.”
Perhaps in his spare time Henry could introduce Styles to a talented tailor – one who appreciated the flair of a salmon-colored jacket and could use such tones to craft fine clothing to make The Phenomenal One look truly exceptional.
