Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been invited to the coronation of King Charles III – despite their strained relationship with the royal family.
“I can confirm that the Duke has recently received email correspondence from His Majesty’s Office regarding the coronation,” a spokesperson for the couple said. he told the Sunday Times Sunday.
“We will not disclose an immediate decision on whether the Duke and Duchess will attend at this time.”
Page Six has reached out to Buckingham Palace for comment.
Charles ascended the throne in September 2022 following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.
His official coronation is set to take place on May 6, a date that fans believe was chosen specifically to create conflict between Harry and Markle as it happens to be their son Archie’s fourth birthday.
Royal sources told Page Six last month that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will definitely be invited to the ceremony despite ongoing tensions with Harry’s family.
Their relationship has been strained since the couple’s resignation from their senior royal duties in January 2020.
Tensions boiled over when Harry, 38, published extensive memos that revealed all sorts of family secrets, including an alleged physical altercation with his brother, Prince William, and a claim that Charles, 74, enjoyed making hurtful comments about red-haired Harry’s real father. “
In an excerpt from the diary, the late Princess Diana’s youngest son wrote, “Pa loved storytelling, and this was one of the best in his collection. He always ended with a dash of philosophy… Who knows if I was really the Prince of Wales? Who knows if You’re even your real father?

He continued, “He was laughing and laughing, though it was a remarkably unfunny joke, given the rumors circulating at the time that my actual father was one of Mummy’s former lovers: Major James Hewitt.” “One reason for this rumor was Major Hewitt’s flaming ginger hair, but sadism is another.”
The royals have not yet touched on the contents of the book, titled “Reserve”. Instead, they continued to operate as normal.
