    “We are all crushed by the tragic loss of Camden McCrite,” San Jose State Athletic Director Jeff Konya said in a statement. “The San Jose State community is so close, and the campus is devastated. We lost a smart and talented young man so soon. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to the McCrite family.”

    McCrite was a freshman escaping from Panorama City in Los Angeles, where he was twice named MVP in his high school league. He had three gigs for 6 yards this year for the Spartans.
