David Boreanaz had four MRIs in four months after not taking any shortcuts while filming Season 7 of “SEAL Team.”

Boreanaz has starred in the military series as Jason Hayes since 2017. Next season will be his last with the show.

“My body just can’t do it anymore!” the 55-year-old actor said. the people magazine.

The SEAL Team crew worked hard to keep the show authentic. Boreanaz trained and filmed extensive scenes for the hit drama. “There were no shortcuts,” he admits.

In one scene, Boreanaz carried a 250-pound stunt double on his back.

“I got about 10 feet out, hit a rock, twisted my ankle, and fell to the ground,” the actor recalled. “My ankle was swollen, but I had to keep going. You learn from the Navy SEALs how to cope with pain — I’m talking about guys who lost their arms in a car accident and they joke about it because that’s how they deal with it. It’s very intense.”

“I take good care of myself, but it got to the point where my body wasn’t moving the way it was before… I think I’ve had four MRIs in the last four months, on my knee, my hip and my shoulder,” he explained. “It’s been a long journey.”

The TV star noted that members of the elite US Navy SEALs thanked him for the “real representation” the show provides of the elite members of the military.

“My work ethic is always to focus on the present, not to look back, not to look too far into the future.”

Although Boreanaz will not be returning to SEAL Team, he has future projects planned.

“I have plans,” Boreanaz said. “My work ethic is always to focus on the moment, not to look back, not to look too far into the future.”

The actor is planning to take a break after working non-stop since the 1990s. Boreanaz starred in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Angel” before landing a role in “Bones,” where he played Seeley Booth from 2005 to 2017. He then landed his role in “SEAL Team.”

“Vacations are good until the second day, then I figure out what we’re going to do after that,” Boreanaz said, explaining that he plans to spend time with his children, Jaden, 22, and Bella, 15.

“My mind is always active. Work for me is relaxation, it satisfies me.”
