Virginia Beach police said two alleged thieves illegally stole thousands of dollars’ worth of fuel from a closed gas station overnight over several days, while advertising discounted gas on social media.
The Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) on Thursday announced the arrests of Rachan Griffith, 24, and Devon Dermogul, 21, No NorfolkCharged with grand theft, conspiracy and possession of burglary tools. Police said more charges may be pending as the investigation continues.
On Tuesday, officers responded to a report of suspicious activity at the Citgo gas station in block 1400 of North Great Neck Road, which was closed at the time. The department said officers noticed several vehicles and individuals congregating on the property and pumping gasoline.
