All you have to do is watch The Game Awards through Valve’s streaming site. Oh yes: Remember when Valve launched a streaming site?
Yes, the annual montage of trailers and ads posing as a game show in a desperate attempt to hide its true nature is back. The “Prize Show” will air on December 8 to hand out some prizes as fast as possible among the dozens of trailers, ads, and commercials for the DLC and expansion cards. But if you decide to watch the whole thing this year — which can often last close to three hours — you might at least be able to win a Steam Deck for your troubles.
As announced on November 30, Valve is celebrating The Game Awards with a massive Steam Deck giveaway. The Company will give away a free laptop to one person every minute for the duration of The Game Awards. (Nobody in history has ever wanted The Game Awards to go on for so long, until now…) To get a chance, you’ll first need to sign up for the drawing, which you can do now, and then watch. What is this, you ask? It’s a half-baked Steam-ified Twitch game that the company basically abandoned shortly after launch. But like many Valve products, they linger, like zombies.
