The Santa Monica High School Track and Field team continued to shine at the Annual South Bay Championship meet with many of the students bringing home well-deserved medals and meeting personal records. Hundreds of athletes assembled and despite the winds gave their best performances.
The dedicated coaches at Samo are Head Coach Tania Fischer, Harley Richards, Ena Leufroy, Krishna Curry, Paul Lupi, Pat Cady and Andres Meza whose superb and skilled training shows this team of dedicated athletes going from strength to strength and improving at each meet.
Coach Tania Fischer, who is still a competitive runner with her successful ladies running team “The Janes” could not hide her pride as she spoke of her team and coaches.
“I am proud of everything we accomplished here the last two days, and I am extremely grateful for my dedicated coaches, who make is all possible for Samo to achieve these goals.” she said. “A special shout out of congratulations to Ariel Dyrek, who despite shocking windy conditions jumped an amazing 12 feet!
