The second major season of golf 2022 has arrived as the sport looks to set the tone for the remainder of the campaign. The beauty of May surrounds the rolling south of Tulsa, Oklahoma, where the PGA Championship returns to the city for the first time since 2007. This year’s relationship is set with Loaded field Which includes most of the best golfers in the world.
It’s so stacked that even the couple’s unfortunate absences won’t be felt as the tournament progresses. Notable in attendance will be defending champion Phil Mickelson, who will watch from afar while the rest of the golf world progresses without him. Tiger Woods will carry it, although after his weekend performances at the Masters last month, any expectations for a 16th major championship being one in Tulsa are slim at best.
Instead, it’s 2022 Masters champion Scottie Scheffler who opened as the favourite with Jordan Spieth entering one of the top events given he’ll start his sixth attempt to win the Grand Slam of his career. Also of note is Rory McIlroy, who recently upped his game as he seeks his first major tournament of any kind since 2014. Woods, Spieth and McIlroy will be part of one of two very high profile pairs, the other featuring the top three in golf. In the world where Schaeffler plays alongside Jon Ram and Colin Morikawa.
