Lionsgate Exec wants Keanu Reeves to star in more John Wick movies

Warning: The following contains full spoilers for John Wick: Chapter 4.

Lionsgate Motion Picture Group president Joe Drake has expressed his desire for Keanu Reeves to star in more John Wick films, especially after Chapter 4 scored its first box office debut.

John Wick: Chapter 4 dominated the box office in its first weekend, taking in $73.5 million at the North American box office and $137.5 million worldwide. The franchise’s popularity has grown with each new entry, and Drake is eager for Reeves to reprise the role again.

“We’re not ready to say goodbye to Keanu with this privilege,” Drake said. “He’s the replacement that will be there.” Delivery time Sunday. “There are so many different things we could do… I’ve watched this movie five times in the last week. I can see the way it moves the audience.”

Chapter 4 served as a swan song for the character of John Wick as we see him duel to the death against martial arts expert Kane at the end of the movie. However, this won’t be the last time we see Reeves’ legendary killer as the franchise is still expanding.

There are at least two projects in the franchise yet to be released: Peacock’s The Continental, a ’70s sequel set after Winston and Sharon’s early days, and the Ballerina movie, which will follow Ronnie’s Ruska Roma, which we saw briefly in Chapter 3.

So while Chapter 4 brings John Wick’s story to a very satisfying conclusion, there’s still plenty of room for Reeves to appear in cameo tales in stories set before his character’s death, such as the spinoff Ballerina, which will be released in the spring or summer of 2024.

If you want to see Reeves in action before then, we highly recommend checking out John Wick: Chapter 4. IGN’s 10/10 review called the film “a masterclass in modern action,” set up with “incredibly pop action scenes, and an engaging ensemble cast.” , and elegant production design.”
