Dua Lipa sparkled in a sheer, rhinestone dress as she attended the star-studded Barbie UK premiere in London on Wednesday.
The singer, 27, looked sexy in the multicolored number that shimmered under the lights on the hot pink carpet.
She accessorized her plunging neckline with a quirky choker and matching pair of earrings.
Besides making a special appearance as mermaid Barbie in the upcoming fantasy comedy, which hits theaters July 21, Dua also had the opportunity to compose the soundtrack for Barbie.
The catchy track, Dance The Night, is the lead single on the soundtrack, and it officially dropped a few months ago on May 25th.
Other musical artists are also set on the album, such as Ava Max, Ice Spice, Lizzo, Nicki Minaj, and Billie Eilish. Ryan Gosling, who plays Kane in the live-action movie, will also appear on the soundtrack with a song called, I’m Just Kane.
Margot, who takes on the lead role of Barbie, has recently been on a world press tour with other cast members, stopping in countries like Australia, South Korea, and Mexico.
Greta Gerwig, known for directing previous films such as Little Women (2019) and Lady Bird (2017), not only directed the upcoming fantasy comedy, but also co-wrote the screenplay with Noah Baumbach.
Not only does the Barbie movie star Margot, Ryan, and Dua, but it also stars America Ferrera, Will Ferrell, Issa Rae, Hari Nef, and Simu Liu. Various versions of the Barbie and Ken dolls will be filmed, with actress Helen Mirren narrating the film.
The film’s premise, with a budget of $100 million, follows Barbie and Ken as they travel to the real world in order to find the true meaning of happiness.
Filming began last year in 2022 at Warner Bros. Studios in England, while some exterior shots were notably shot outdoors in Los Angeles, such as Venice.
During a recent interview with Rolling StoneOn!, Greta revealed that Margot felt “self-conscious” while filming the Venice Beach scene.
“But when we were actually shooting in Venice Beach, with Margot and Ryan dressed as neon skaters, it was cool because it was really happening in front of us,” she explained.
People would go by Ryan, who’s five, and say, “Wow, Ryan, you look great!” And they won’t say anything to Margot. They were just looking at her. It was just surreal. At that moment, I felt self-conscious.
Gerwig added, “And as a director, I wanted to protect her. But I also knew that the scene we were shooting had to be where I felt exposed. And she has been revealed, both as a celebrity and as a lady.
To be fair, Ryan was like, “I wish I didn’t wear that jacket.” But it was a different kind of upset.
Barbie will officially hit theaters later this month on July 21, the same day that Christopher Nolan’s epic historical drama, Oppenheimer, also releases.
