A man is wanted by the FBI in Texas for robbing a bank while holding a child.
On June 6, shortly after 2 p.m., the suspect allegedly robbed a First Convenience Bank branch located inside a Walmart in Fort Worth. The FBI Dallas Division is asking for the public’s help Friday in identifying the thief, who is believed to be between 35 and 45 years old.
“The robbery suspect walked up to the bank teller with a young child sitting in a shopping cart, then handed the teller a note demanding money. On receiving it, he pushed the child and the basket towards the shop and then fled from the spot carrying the small child,” the central police said in a press release shared on Facebook.
In the release, the FBI also released a photo of the man walking away from the scene with a little girl in his arms.
“It was surprising to me. I mean, to think the poor kid would be involved in something like that. But she’s too young to understand what’s going on,” said Fort Worth resident Shirley Ingram in an interview with NBC 5.
The FBI is still investigating as the thief has not yet been arrested.
