Brandon Aiyuk explains 49ers comment ‘they don’t want me back’ amid contract talks – NBC Sports Bay Area & California

On June 16, 49ers star Brandon Aiyuk posted a video on TikTok with the caption, “I’m laughing but I’m crying [for real]”.

In the video, Aiyuk told his close friend and Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, “They said they don’t want me back… I swear,” referring to the slow talks over the player’s pro contract with San Francisco.

Aiyuk surprisingly explained what 49ers players told him before his TikTok post in an appearance on Friday. The Axis Podcast. With co-hosts Ryan Clark, Channing Crowder and Fred Taylor.

“They told me they didn’t think we were on the same page, they didn’t believe they were going to do it, and that’s what happened at the time,” Aiyuk said. “But it’s part of the contract negotiations.”

Ayuk’s first post made the situation seem more serious than he had suggested on Friday.

While the two sides appear far from reaching an agreement, San Francisco and its team, which leads the list of teams that receive the most goals, remain focused on expanding their dynamic partnership.

The 26-year-old said he and girlfriend Rochelle Seawright document a lot of their summer events, which is why his moment was captured on camera. A big player on the court, Aiyuk tries to be a storyteller.

“We started getting our own footage, recording everything,” Aiyuk said. “Just enjoying the process. Asking my lady to record things, recording everything that happens so I can look back on it. It’s an exciting time. It’s stressful, but it’s exciting.”

“I want to have these memories. And that was just a moment that I captured. I got off the phone with the San Francisco 49ers, and they told me what they told me, and then I relayed that information to [Daniels]”.
