Carpenter, 25, turned heads in a black dress as she sang her hit song “Please Please Please” from her latest album. Short and sweet While appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon On Thursday, August 22, she wore a Gucci gown that featured a low-cut neckline that cascaded down her midriff, a fitted silhouette, an open back, and plenty of sequins. Carpenter, who took to the stage barefoot, accessorized her look with diamond earrings by Anita Ko.
To glam up the look, the singer went full-on, including her signature rosy cheeks, burgundy lips, subtle eyeshadow, and long lashes. Her blonde hair was parted in the middle and styled into a fluffy puff with long bangs framing her face. She completed the look with kiss marks on her back, to match her album cover.
While chatting with Fallon, 49, about Short and sweetCarpenter wore a pale blue Gucci jacket, which dropped on Friday, August 23, featuring a ribbed collar and sequin detailing, and a matching mini skirt. She paired the look with teal heels and silver rings.
Carpenter has spoken candidly about her album, saying she doesn’t have a favorite song from the collection. “It feels like an album with its own title to me in a weird way,” she said. “I really feel like all these stories and memories [it’s] “It’s so honest, so direct, so funny, and it’s one of the best memories I’ve had in the last two years of writing it,” she said excitedly. “I’m so excited for everyone to hear it.”
Along with the album release, Carpenter released a music video on Friday for her song “Taste,” which stars Jenna OrtegaIn the video, Carpenter attempts to kill Ortega after seeing her ex-boyfriend with actress Wednesday.
Ortega initially tries to respond but the two girls end up creating their own love story and sharing a kiss.
