A passenger has died after jumping off the world’s largest cruise ship on the first night of his week-long voyage, officials said.
The unidentified man jumped from Royal Caribbean’s new 1,200-foot Icon of the Seas — which carries 7,600 passengers and 2,350 crew — shortly after it left Florida for Honduras on Sunday morning, the Coast Guard told The Post.
The Coast Guard said: “The cruise ship sent one of its rescue boats, found the man and brought him back on board.”
“He was pronounced dead. The agency added that besides assisting in the search, the US Coast Guard had no significant role in this incident.
The Post has reached out to Royal Caribbean for comment.

The ship was stationary for about two hours while the 2,350 crew members helped the Coast Guard complete the search and rescue mission.
The report stated that the jumper was returned to the ship in critical condition before he died of his wounds.
Guests on the 7,600-passenger ship shared videos of the rescue mission, with some expressing shock at initially finding him alive.

The Icon of the Seas, the world’s largest cruise ship, made its maiden voyage in January this year.
The 1,200-foot-long ship has 20 decks and is roughly the size of four city blocks.
It includes a 17,000-square-foot water park with six water slides, seven pools – including the 40,000-gallon Royal Bay, the largest pool in the sea – and Absolute Zero, the largest ice skating rink in the sea.
There’s also a theatre, carousel, and more than 40 restaurants, bars, and lounges on board.
