A fiery video clip showed that a Russian military transport plane crashed today, Tuesday, with 15 people on board, after one of its engines caught fire after take-off, killing all those on board.
The Il-76 plane, which was carrying a crew of eight and seven passengers, crashed in the Ivanovo region northeast of Moscow, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense. It is not yet clear who the passengers were and where they were headed.

Another video clip showed a column of thick black smoke rising into the sky over a forested area.
Online media reported that there were no survivors.
The Ministry of Defense was quoted as saying: “At approximately one o’clock in the afternoon Moscow time, an IL-76 military transport plane crashed while taking off on a scheduled flight in the Ivanovo region.” State-run TASS news agency.
The ministry statement said that an engine fire was the likely cause of the accident.
The engine reportedly caught fire immediately after the plane took off from Severny Air Base.
It was said that the pilots tried to return to the airport to make an emergency landing, but they were unable to do so.
But the crew was able to move the burning plane away from a residential area, before it crashed in the forest near a cemetery outside the village of Bogorodskoe, Telegram channel “112” reported.
The four-engined Il-76 is a heavy transport aircraft that has been in service since the 1970s with the Soviet and then Russian Air Forces.
