Abortion: Life changed in a few minutes

Abortion: Life changed in a few minutes

The Texas abortion clinic needed just 12 minutes to complete the abortions on Friday, according to Roe V. Wade has been defending the right to abortion in the United States since 1973.

The quick result of the Houston Women’s Reproductive Services Clinic came as a surprise to many as women waited at the clinic for an abortion, The Washington Post reported.

When asked if the facility would continue to perform abortions, Kathy Kleinfeld, co-owner of the clinic, said, “It’s over.”

There was a long silence among the ordered staff.

Kathy Kleinfeld then met the women separately. The sound of crying was not heard after that. A Mississippi woman traveled even a few hundred miles on Friday morning, hoping to keep her pregnancy behind her.

The 25-year-old single mother expressed optimism in the Washington Post. She was on her way and got a call from the clinic to tell her the news. The five-week-pregnant woman left in tears and cried.

“At five weeks pregnant, there was no heartbeat and still my rights were taken away from me,” she said.

The single mother, who lives on “salary for salary”, will struggle to cope with travel expenses as she has to move to a state where she can legally have an abortion.

The clinic phone did not stop ringing throughout the day. So much so, that the co-owner of the firm posted a message explaining the reverse effects of Roe v. Wade.

“We hope you will remember this when it comes time to vote in the election,” Kathy Kleinfeld said at the end of the message.
