The story: Four MVP Awards and One Memorable Win
There are close games, and there are games dramatic enough to be remembered for a long time. The USA’s win over Serbia yesterday is one of those games, and that was due to just a quarter of an hour of play, in fact.
Let’s expand:
- For three quarters of the game, this semifinal looked like the worst loss in U.S. Olympic basketball history. Nothing worked for Team USA, and Bogdan Bogdanovic became a star. Perhaps the most talented team in the history of the American Olympic Games suffered a crushing defeat. The team was behind by 17 points at one stage.
- The fourth quarter is what we will remember. Four of the NBA’s best players last season – LeBron James, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant and Joel Embiid – played at their best. They played well together and showed incredible courage in the closing stages.
- The curry was particularly special.He scored 36 points in the game, including nine three-pointers. James added a triple-double. Durant hit a great basket in crunch time. Embiid scored 19 points.
A state of mass panic spread across social media after hearing the sound of the bell. Watch James, Curry, Durant – Three of the NBA’s Top 15 Players From all ages – Playing like that on the same team, representing their country, was very special. “I’m really humbled to be a part of this game,” said U.S. coach Steve Kerr. Same thing, but from my couch.
Next, Saturday, for the gold medal: France are the host nation, narrowly beating Germany in another tough semifinal. The Americans are the favorites to win, and all eyes will be on Embiid, who snubbed the French to play for the U.S. team. Don’t let Wimbledon burn down.

Jones says there is ‘no urgency’ for Lamb deal
There is no NFL owner like Jerry Jones, who He said yesterday Jones doesn’t feel “urgency” to sign star wide receiver C.D. Lamb — who declined to report to training camp — to a contract. Jones made similar comments about running back Ezekiel Elliott in 2019 before signing him to a big contract. “I was at Nobu two days ago,” Jones said. “Put that as a reason (for the stalled talks).”

Some Americans to watch: Victor Montalvo (aka “Victor B-Boy”), 30, is currently the top American male dancer in the world. On the women’s side, we look to Sunny Choi, 35, a former Estée Lauder executive who won gold at the 2023 Pan American Games after quitting her day job.

- I tend to agree with the majority, but maybe that’s just grumbling. I love Snoop Dogg. People love Snoop Dogg. NBC clearly loves Snoop Dogg.We should let people enjoy things, right?
- Reader James F. came up with a solution that I honestly should have thought of first: MMaybe this is the perfect amount of Snoop. No more, no less. Maybe the third option would have been better.
