Attack on Trump: The Left Is Responsible

Ever since Donald Trump’s assassination attempt, everyone has been wondering how to explain it. The reasons are many and among them is a certain leftist rhetoric.

It’s still too late to know precisely and definitively the killer’s motives, especially since he’s a donor to a Democratic organization and a registered Republican, which is puzzling (although this could be explained by the fact that he would have wanted to vote for Nikki Haley to stop Trump during the Republican primaries). Still, it’s not too early to say that some Democrats’ fervent anti-Trump rhetoric may have pushed him to do the irreparable.

For months, Democrats have not only criticized Trump’s views, but in response to his extreme rhetoric, they have gone so far as to associate him with a dictator and even a Nazi. As many of his views have come under criticism, making this association is irresponsible. These Democrats justify the latter association, which specifically aims to ban abortion, severely restrict immigration, curtail the independence of the Justice Department, and implement Plan 2025, which aims to replace federal civil servants with political workers loyal to Trump.

Now, this plan, which Trump doesn’t officially support, can be described as ultra-conservative and highly authoritarian, but since it doesn’t abolish elections or genocide, it shouldn’t qualify as a Nazi dictatorship. This distinction is important because if radical conservatives and promoters of radical totalitarian ideas had to be fought with votes, Nazi dictators had to be fought with guns.

That’s why in America, as elsewhere, with very rare exceptions, the left must stop associating its enemies with dictatorships or Nazism and talk more about substance. America’s Democrats are more likely to win by defending abortion rights than by undermining their opponent.
