Among the big titles that have already been confirmed Major cities, the latest work by two-time Palme d'Or winner Francis Coppola, premiered at the Palace on Friday evening, May 17. The film will be screened in competition. Outside of the competition, Kevin Costner will make his first appearance in the first part of the film Horizon: An American Epic As a world premiere. And the awaited second part by George Miller Furiosa: The Mad Max Saga It has been confirmed for a non-corporate slot. The new part is scheduled to be shown in cinemas in France on May 22, two days before its release in the United States.

This year's Cannes festival will open with Quentin Dupieux's French-language road comedy The second law (The second law). Léa Seydoux, Vincent Lindon, Louis Garrel and Raphaël Coignard will be in attendance. The film had its out-of-competition world premiere at the Croisette on Tuesday 14 May, and will have a four-part release in French cinemas on the same day.
The official synopsis reads: “Florence wants to introduce David, the man she is madly in love with, to her father Guillaume. But David is not attracted to Florence and wants to throw her into the arms of his friend Willy. The four characters meet in a restaurant in the middle of nowhere.”
After the success of Billionaire Dollar last year BarbieGreta Gerwig will chair this year's main jury.
The Cannes Film Festival takes place from May 14 to 25.
