Cannes Film Festival lineup announced – follow the live broadcast

Industry and the French press gathered this morning at the UGC Normandie Theater in Paris, where Thierry Frémaux was about to select the official selection for this year's Cannes Film Festival. Move the mouse down For an updated list of titles.

This year's Cannes festival will open with Quentin Dupieux's French-language road comedy The second law (The second law). Léa Seydoux, Vincent Lindon, Louis Garrel and Raphaël Coignard will be in attendance. The film had its out-of-competition world premiere at the Croisette on Tuesday 14 May, and will have a four-part release in French cinemas on the same day.

The official synopsis reads: “Florence wants to introduce David, the man she is madly in love with, to her father Guillaume. But David is not attracted to Florence and wants to throw her into the arms of his friend Willy. The four characters meet in a restaurant in the middle of nowhere.”

After the success of Billionaire Dollar last year BarbieGreta Gerwig will chair this year's main jury.

The Cannes Film Festival takes place from May 14 to 25.
