As you may have read, the Taliban in Afghanistan are now forcing women, all women, to cover their faces.

And ban women from raising their voices in public.

We don’t want to see you, we don’t want to hear you.

Shut up, close the walls, and be as discreet as possible.

Do like the boy in Brelin’s song: Be the shadow of my shadow, be the shadow of my dog.

Layer basket.

Open your legs when I command you. And to make one good little Taliban after another.

The Mulroney fight

Imagine if black people were treated like this.

At the time of reading these lines, the UN Tear off the secretary general’s shirt and all the western countries will unite and expel this country from the international community.

As did South Africa.

But they are women…

Brian Mulroney fought like hell to get South Africa to end its apartheid regime.

During a dinner at Denise Bombardier’s, Mr. Mulroney told me this story.

He called on Margaret Thatcher, then his friend Ronald Reagan, “Come on, behave yourself, do the right thing, throw your weight into this war, it’s a question of policy!”

He is a good man, Mr. Mulroney.

Canada was the first country Nelson Mandela wanted to visit after his release from prison. The anti-apartheid knew he owed our Prime Minister a debt of gratitude.

Do you think Justin would make such an allegation against Afghanistan?

I laugh (and actually get angry) when I see columnists who have never said a single word against the veil suddenly play offended virgins.

As if the veil, abaya, burqa, ban on speaking in public has nothing to do with it!

Don’t these pseudo-feminists realize that there is only a difference of degree and no difference of nature?

These are the steps of the same staircase.

Let me remind you that, as my wife (a true feminist) has often reprimanded, Montreal City Hall greets tourists and citizens with a map showing two men and a veiled woman.

A ridiculous and humiliating decision condemned only by one political party, the Bloc Québécois.

Radio silence in Montreal. Radio silence in Quebec.

But it’s the same message.

A respectable woman covers her hair.

A respectable woman shows modesty in her dress.

A respectable woman hides her sexuality.

A respectable woman hides her curves.

They made us wear the veil.

They make us wear Abaya.

They are going to make us wear the burqa.

In fact, we already accept it. They are everywhere.
