British pop star Dua Lipa is set to headline Glastonbury Festival 2024, taking to the Pyramid stage tonight (Friday, June 28).
Fears of a trusty farm being washed away after a cold and wet start to June have been eased by the Met Office’s latest report predicting mostly dry spells and temperatures of between 18 and 21 degrees Celsius.
Over the weekend, a selection of artists will perform across the sprawling festival’s various stages – but organiser Emily Eavis has denied any rumours of “big surprises”. Here’s the full Glastonbury 2024 line-up and show times.
Before Dua Lipa takes the stage, fans will enjoy performances from K-pop stars Seventeen, Irish rock band Fontaines DC, pop group The Sugababes, and PJ Harvey.
Earlier this week, organizers of Glastonbury Festival confirmed they would not be showing England’s Euro 2024 round of 16 match during the festival.
If you’re following from home, the BBC has shared its coverage schedule for the weekend.
Olivia Dean reflects on the magical Glastonbury events taking place at the Pyramid Theatre
“I’ve wanted to play on this stage all my life, it’s been a dream…so when this moment comes, it’s almost supernatural,” Olivia Dean tells the BBC from Glastonbury.
Dean said it was amazing to see “so many women” in this year’s Glastonbury line-up: “It helps you visualise it, when you see people like you.”
“I loved seeing Adele, and I remember seeing Stormi and feeling like I was watching history,” she said.

Olivia Deen wows huge crowds on the Pyramid Stage
On the Pyramid stage, Olivia Deen gave a performance full of charisma and confidence. Her first album, chaotic, This book was nominated for the Mercury Prize and is about self-discovery in the aftermath of a breakup.
Her voice is big, backed by a soulful, resonant tenor that can leap playfully through the octaves. It’s a joy to watch live, with cymbals, drums, saxophones, trumpets and a meticulous choreography adding weight to a highly polished performance, which also sees her in fine form as she pays tribute to her grandmother, who was part of the Windrush generation and moved to the UK when she was 18.

When will Dua Lipa perform at Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage and how to watch her
This is the first time Glastonbury Festival will host two headline artists, with SZA joining Dua Lipa.
She told the BBC: “I feel incredibly lucky to be part of this transformation. It’s important that we have more major female artists. We just have to keep pushing and making that change happen.”
She said trying to get the crowd on stage for a performance of “Blow Your Mind (Mwah),” as she did during her last Glastonbury show, might be tough this time: “It might be tight. But I have to find a way to make 150,000 people feel like they’re in a little nightclub.
“That’s the goal, and if there’s a place to do that, it’s got to be Glasto.”

Glastonbury organizer Emily Eavis defends the 2024 line-up
Glastonbury organizer Emily Eavis has defended the festival’s line-up amid criticism of a shortage of rock bands as pop star Dua Lipa prepares to headline music on Friday.
This year’s event features headline performances from Dua Lipa, Coldplay and American R&B singer SZA, while country music star Shania Twain will play in the coveted Legends Slot.
“I think the line-up reflects what’s going on in the music world at the moment – there aren’t a lot of new rock acts to choose from if I’m honest,” Ives said.
“I hope that comes up again, my peak was 1995 with Pulp and Oasis and Radiohead… and that was great but music changes all the time and now this is where we are.”

Shania Twain, Dua Lipa and SZA at Glastonbury 2024 outdo last year’s meaningless male rock
I know there’s been a lot of grumbling about the Glastonbury line-up this year, much of it justified (in my view), but I also think it’s still a huge improvement over Guns’N’Roses or, dare I say it, Arctic Monkeys (I love them but… Last year’s group was not my favorite).
Here’s something I did previously on this very topic
