A tourist from Hong Kong escaped from an amusement park in Thailand last January.
The 39-year-old decided to jump off a 10-story springboard in Pattaya while on vacation.
Fortunately for him, a jump over water cushioned his fall after the elastic broke.
He made it out alive, but unhurt.
“I landed on my left side, so the injuries there were pretty serious,” he said.
He found Mike covered in bruises.
“It was like someone hit me really hard,” he added.
After being challenged by friends who saw the scene, the man agreed to jump.
“It was so high, I closed my eyes. I planned to open them again when I came back,” says Mike.
“When I opened my eyes I felt the rope break and was suddenly surrounded by water.”
He was able to swim to the surface even though his legs were tied together.
Mike said the park reimbursed him for his jump and paid for x-rays and ultrasounds in Thailand.
The founder of the park confirmed that this is the first time such an event has taken place.
