Schulenberg, who played Alison Stewart in “As the World Turns” and Jo Sullivan in the reboot “One Life to Live,” died Tuesday, her manager Kyle Locker told CNN.
Schulenberg and her husband, actor Zach Rubidas, welcomed their daughter Coda two years ago.
On the eve of my 36th birthday, instead of looking for a place to drink several Bloody Marys (my birthdays always include Bloody Marys, boats, and lobsters, and not in any particular order), I would repeat the same question over and over in my head: “How does one celebrate one’s birthday with a baby? New in the midst of a global pandemic while coming to terms with a diagnosis of stage 4 metastatic triple-negative inflammatory breast cancer?”
I also found another kind of love at school, meeting Rubidas there when I worked as a guide on campus.
Schulenberg worked while in school and snatched the role in As the World Turned the year she graduated in 2006.
She continued to appear on the web in the reboot “One Life to Life” in 2013.
Schulenberg, who was going to celebrate her 38th birthday on Saturday, has also sung on Broadway and appeared in television series, including “Blue Bloods” and Showtime’s latest “City on a Hill.”
She wrote in the caption to a series of photos that showed her own daughter and mother-daughter, Candice. “I want to show her how to move around this world with compassion, strength, vitality, humor and joy as my mother explained to me.”
