On Thursday, during the third televised hearing of this parliamentary committee, former President Donald Trump put a lot of pressure on his vice president to prevent him from certifying Joe Biden’s victory in the presidential election. 6, 2021.

“We have some important people we haven’t interviewed yet, and we want to interview them,” Adam Schiff told CNN on Sunday. When asked about Mike Pence Sapona’s possibility, he said: “It’s definitely possible.”

“We do not exclude anything or anyone at this time,” he added, adding that “we do not disclose what private conversations (supported) or did not take place regarding certain individuals.”

The elected officials who make up the commission – seven Democrats and two Republicans – have already asked more than 1,000 witnesses, including two children of the former president, to shed light on Donald Trump’s specific actions before and after the event.

According to an ABC News / Ipsos poll released on Sunday, 6 out of 10 Americans (58%) believe that action should be taken against Donald Trump in the January 6 attacks. That number is higher than what 52% of Americans reported in April, before the Commission of Inquiry’s inquiries began.

But according to the same survey, only 9% of Americans say they follow these inquiries closely.

    “Life in danger”

The commission’s next public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday. On Tuesday, the fourth session will focus on the pressure exerted on local elected officials in some states, especially in Georgia, during the vote count.

In a phone call with Georgia’s Secretary of State, Brad Raffensberger, Donald Trump asked to “find” enough votes in his favor to change the outcome of the ballot.

On January 6, the practice of certifying the results of the presidential election before Congress was, in principle, merely formal. But President Trump tried to forcibly restrain Mike Pence’s hand.

Mr. Pence finally released a letter in which he stated that he had no powers. At the same time, pro-Trump protesters began to gather around Congress – images circulating around the world.

“On that day, he was a hero for resisting all pressure campaigns,” NBC on Sunday elected Jamie Ruskin, a Democrat from the House of Representatives and a member of the Commission of Inquiry.

Adam Schiff also assessed that these pressures “put his life in danger.”

During a rally in Congress, Donald Trump’s supporters called for Mike Pence to be hanged.

After a long month of silence, the former vice president spoke publicly about the horrors of January 6 during a speech in Florida in mid-February.

“President Trump said I had the right to change the election, but President Trump made a mistake,” he said, confirming his final break with the former businessman.
