Biden warned on Thursday that the omigran variant of Govit-19 was “out there” and “spreading rapidly in the United States,” calling on Americans to get vaccinated and those already immunized to get their booster dose.

“Your injection is the real protection,” the president said, predicting a “winter of serious illness and death” for those who have not been vaccinated.

At the end of a meeting dedicated to the COVID-19 epidemic, Joe Biden called on reporters to “get a message straight to Americans.”

The U.S. president said booster doses were “very important” for those who had been vaccinated, while others were “getting the first dose”.

Some time ago, Deputy White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre suggested that the administration did not want to focus on vaccines and take specific control measures.

“The tools we have work,” he said. “We will continue to work so that Americans get the vaccine and their booster shots.”

G7 health ministers on Thursday called for cooperation on the Omicron variant of the corona virus, calling it “the current biggest threat to public health worldwide.”

The epidemic linked to the new variant has spread around the world and especially travel control measures are on the rise in Europe.

The United States, the world’s worst-hit country, currently records an average of 1,150 COVID-19 deaths a day, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
