Philadelphia Eagles RB Miles Sanders ‘ready to go’ for first week with hamstring injury

Philadelphia – The Eagles are back! Miles Sanderswho has been dealing with a hamstring injury, said he was “ready to go” for Sunday’s opener at the Detroit Lions.

Sanders was sidelined for more than two weeks after his first pre-season game against the New York Jets, but he was fully involved in practice on Wednesday as preparations for the Lions began.

“It’s just one of those injuries you don’t want to risk in camp, so I attacked the rehab center and came back and I’m ready to go,” he said Thursday.

Sanders, 25, is expected to be up front for the Eagles who led the league at 160 yards per game last season. He finished 754 yards in 137 carry (5.5 yards per attempt) over 12 games last season, missing time with ankle and hand injuries.

Entering the final year of his contract with the rookie, Sanders described the upcoming season as “a little bit personal” and said he’s out “to finally get the respect I deserve.”

Expected to get the bulk of the payload, with Kenneth JenwellAnd the Boston Scott and newly acquired Trey Sermon as other backfield options.

“Miles is our guy,” said Shane Steichen, the attack coordinator. “We are really satisfied with that group, but to add another talented player like [Sermon]It will be useful to us.”
