Pierce Brosnan restores his faith in men in the new Bond film

Halle Berry said in a video interview with Wired that Pierce Brosnan “restored” her faith in men while filming the 2002 James Bond film Die Another Day. The action film marked Brosnan’s final appearance as 007 after a seven-year career that began with 1995’s GoldenEye. Berry played Bond girl Jinx in the film.

“Bond will always, always be me. I’m a fan of Pierce Brosnan. He restored my faith in men in this film. There couldn’t be a more noble human being than Pierce Brosnan,” Berry said when asked about her experience on the film.

“Bond wasn’t on my bucket list,” Berry continued. “No, not to be in one of those films, but I’ve always loved those films. Having been in one of them, I feel like I’m part of cinematic history… These films are iconic. They will forever be part of our history, and I feel so honoured to be part of one of them, especially with Pierce.”

Berry’s annoying character in Die Another Day proved to be such a favorite among Bond fans that franchise producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson began planning her own Berry spinoff. But diverse In 2020, it was reported: “The plan was thwarted when MGM backed out of the film’s $80 million budget. The decision left Broccoli furious. One of her main goals as 007’s director was to eliminate some of the chauvinism that had characterized Bond’s appearances in the early novels and films.”

“It was very disappointing,” Perry later said. diverse On the loss of Jinx, he said: “It was ahead of its time. No one was willing to spend that kind of money on a black action star. They weren’t sure what her worth was. That’s where we stood at that time.”

Berry is currently starring in the Netflix action film “The Union” alongside Mark Wahlberg. Watch her video interview with Wired in the post below.
