Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a telephone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday that the West should stop supplying arms to Ukraine.

“The West will help stop these atrocities by exerting appropriate influence over the authorities in Kiev and halting the supply of arms to Ukraine,” the Russian president said in a statement from the Kremlin.
Vladimir Putin has accused Ukrainian forces of committing war crimes and the EU of ignoring them.
The Russian president said that despite Kiev’s inconsistencies and lack of preparation for serious work, the Russian side was still open to dialogue to find a way out of the conflict.
According to the Kremlin, Mr Putin responded to French concerns about global food security by saying that the situation in the region was “complicated by Western sanctions” against Russia.
Relations between France and Russia have been strained since the start of Moscow’s military offensive in Ukraine on February 24.
Despite this crisis, Mr. Mr. Macron, before and after the conflict erupted. Talking to Putin several times and trying to find a solution did not succeed.
