In the past 24 hours, the Russians have captured the Luhansk region in eastern Ukraine. Here is former military intelligence officer Simon Leduc’s analysis of the 131st day of conflict.

Mr. According to Leduc, the Russians can produce the equipment in large quantities without it costing them much.
“The Russians show no signs that they lack the resources. The attack on Severodonetsk and Lysytchansk was 15 or 20% of the Russian effort. (…) To give an example of the Russians’ capabilities in producing the equipment, one of the missiles, the SS26, Putin offered to supply to Belarus. At a lower price for the Russians, and more We have the capacity to manufacture equipment at scale,” he said.
Westerners have underestimated this Russian capability because “people are still ready for an earlier war,” Mr. Leduc noted.
“The Russians have a clear advantage. The Russian advance is equivalent to taking the entire island of Montreal in two weeks,” the expert said.
