    Two men and a woman were killed at the resort, Acting Prime Minister of the Bahamas Chester Cooper said Friday, and a fourth American – a woman – was taken to a hospital in Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas.

    He said that although police were investigating, “Cooper was told that no error was suspected.”

    In a statement to CNN, the Royal Bahamas Police said that no traces of trauma were found on the bodies.

    Initial reports indicate that unresponsive corpses were found in two different locations; In a statement issued on Saturday, the police said that a man was first found in one villa and did not show signs of shock, and the couple were in another villa.

    The couple complained of illness the evening before, according to the report.

    “Officers found a Caucasian man lying on a wall in a toilet, and he did not respond,” the Royal Bahamas Police Force said. “The woman was also unresponsive. Both people showed signs of convulsion. Officers examined the bodies and found no signs of shock.”

    Police will await the autopsy report to determine the exact cause of death, adding that for the time being, “this matter is still under active investigation.”

    Cooper did not name the resort, but Sandals Resort spokeswoman Stacey Royal confirmed to CNN that the three guests died at the resort. Sandals Emerald Bay Resort On the great Exuma.

    Sandals Resorts, which operates more than a dozen inclusive centers in the Atlantic and Caribbean, The fourth person in the hospital was not mentioned.     “A health emergency was initially reported, and following our protocols, we immediately alerted emergency medical professionals and relevant local authorities,” Sandals Resorts said in a statement to CNN Saturday morning.

    The company said it was working to “support the investigation as well as the families of the guests in every possible way,” but it could not reveal more information “out of respect for the privacy of our guests.”

    Cooper asked the country’s Minister of Health and Wellness to lead a delegation of health, environment and public works officials to the Exuma region on Friday.

    “The information will be shared with the public as soon as it becomes available,” Cooper, the Bahamas Tourism Minister, said. “We offer our thoughts and prayers to the affected families.”
