The Serbian capital’s police chief, Veselin Milik, told a press conference.
The early morning shooting at an elementary school in the center of Belgrade killed the institution’s security guard and wounded six students, two of them critically, as well as a teacher, authorities announced.
Seven of the children killed were girls and one boy, all born in 2009, 2010 and 2011, Veselinovic said.
