Texas: Premature baby abandoned outside in heat wave

A Texas couple got a surprise Saturday morning while walking their daughter and their dog; A young family found a newborn baby on the roadside.

To avoid the intense heat, Daniela Fedale and her family decided to go out around 9am on Saturday morning. At that time, a 3-year-old girl who came on a bicycle, went with a towel.

“I noticed two little legs moving, and then my husband was behind me with the dogs, and I yelled to my husband. I was like, “Oh, my God, a baby, a baby.” And then [j’ai dit à mon mari] “Call 911, call 911,” and that’s what we did in an interview with local news channel KHOU 11.

According to authorities, the baby was born on Saturday morning before being abandoned. The premature girl, whose umbilical cord was still attached, was later taken to a hospital where she remains in stable condition, Harris County Sheriff’s Office Chief Ed Gonzalez said in a Facebook post.

“We need your help! We are looking for information about a young Hispanic or white male, thin, light complexion and dark hair, holding the child wrapped in a towel. He was wearing a black shirt, possibly gray pants. The man was walking along the Garden Lakes sidewalk. ,” he added.

The man could face charges of abandonment and child endangerment, according to Sergeant Juan Garcia. In a press conference, he explained that due to the vigilance of Daniela Fedale and her partner, the baby was not left outside for too long in extremely hot temperatures.
