They arranged to meet in 20 years: he came, but not his ex

Two French people who broke up in love in 2007 promised to meet again 20 years later at a certain meeting no matter what, but only one of them finally came through.

The man had decided to move to a town in the northeast of France on Tuesday, after asking the opinion of his community in X, “Le Parisien” reported.

So the young man boarded a train on March 19, 2024 to travel the 500 km that separated him from the meeting point.

“I go to a meeting where I have a 99.9% chance of being alone,” he said.

“I go because I have not forgotten this promise, and this day has come … I think the intensity of the story, the brutality of the partition and the time have sanctified this story for me,” he added.

After waiting for 30 minutes, alone, the ex-boyfriend decided to go home.

“After all, it's completely natural that she didn't come. I'm the odd guy out in the story. No one goes to a meeting set after twenty years,” he admitted.
