Summer Game Fest 2023 kicked off yesterday with a new reveal from Ubisoft in the form of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crownbut as specified by VGCIt’s got a pretty terrible reception on YouTube so far.
This is the case across multiple YouTube channels, but if only we take it Official Ubisoft channel In mind, the gameplay appears there in 4.5k likes And 16k did not like it At the time of this writing.
This is just a sampling of what some of the Top Comments have to say:
“Every time Ubisoft announces Prince of Persia, I think about finding a new hobby more and more.”
“So we finally get a new Prince of Persia game. This has nothing to do with Prince of Persia.”
“Ah, yeah. Jay-Z’s stage of Persian legends.”
As you can see, there’s a lot of disappointment surrounding the Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown trailer in the comments section, and a lot of criticism leveled towards the music selection (hence the “Jay Z” reference).
Honestly, we think it looks just fine! Sure, the soundtrack selection is a little weird, and it’s clearly not The Sands of Time edition Which everyone has been waiting for, but that might surprise some people when it hits Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S in January 2024.
Anyway, we should see a lot more of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown at Ubisoft Forward next Monday, so hopefully you’ll get a better reaction at that event than you did at Summer Game Fest 2023.
