A lot has happened at X lately when it comes to attempts to make more money from the platform. After Elon Musk confirmed his plans to offer a small fee for new users, X has now confirmed that it will soon limit the ability to live stream to premium subscribers only.

    Live broadcast on X

The news was confirmed by the official @He lives The profile is in a post on X. Although no date has been specified, the post notes that free users will no longer have the option to stream live on the platform. This also includes live streaming via the crypto platform with X integration.

Users who want to continue live streaming on the X will have to pay for it X Premium subscription, which costs $8 per month or $84 per year. X Premium also gives access to the blue check mark and other exclusive features like creator subscriptions, larger posts, and fewer ads in the timeline.

“Starting soon, only Premium subscribers will be able to live stream (create a live video stream) on X. This includes live streaming from an encoder with X integration. “Upgrade to Premium to continue streaming live,” the company says.

This move was not surprising as Elon Musk has been trying to find more ways to increase the platform’s revenue. Earlier this year, Musk proposed charging a “small fee” to allow new accounts to post on X as a way to avoid spam and bots. Users who choose not to pay will only be able to follow other accounts and read posts for free.
